Who benefits at launch
We collaborate with many volunteers abroad. For fairness and impact, financial support and micro-grants are available at first only to people inside, or to those who left recently and are seeking to continue their professional life. As capacity grows, we may expand this scope through a public update.
How we allocate funds
- Independent media 60%: reporting and editing stipends, photo and short-video assignments, transport and basic PPE, verification and security
- Young Talent Fund 25%: micro-grants, mentorship blocks, workshops, shared gear access, small travel or certification fees
- Tools and hosting 10%: secure hosting, software, communications
- Contingency 5%: emergencies and risk mitigation
Payments and withdrawals
Contributions are processed securely on Fundahope. We request one transfer about once per month after platform checks. In Lebanon, we may collect via BoB Finance branches when that reduces receiving-bank charges. Monthly support can be canceled by the supporter at any time in their Fundahope profile.
Oversight and transparency
- A licensed legal accountant oversees bookkeeping, reconciliation, and the monthly close
- Ring-fenced accounting for media operations and the Young Talent Fund
- Vendor receipts and stipend acknowledgements kept on file
- A monthly transparency note listing outputs, costs, and the plan for the next month
Fees
Platform fee, payment gateway fee, and any local payout or bank charges apply. We consolidate one withdrawal per month to keep costs down.
Tax and receipts
Contributions made through our page are not issued as charitable tax receipts. Tax treatment depends on your jurisdiction and on the recipient’s status. Please consult a tax adviser if needed.
Compliance and restricted support
We cannot accept support from individuals or entities residing in Israel or from any party restricted under Lebanese law. If a restricted contribution is made in error, we will request a reversal with the platform before any withdrawal.
Editorial independence and ethics
Support does not grant editorial control. We follow professional standards, protect sources, and correct errors transparently. We do not accept funds from armed actors or political parties.
